The FB industry has been asking for liquor service to resume in restaurants since they were allowed to open partially.
Signed by Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, the order mentions the DDMA decision to open hotels and goes on to state governments in “Assam, Punjab, and Rajasthan have permitted service of liquor by license holders under Excise Rules at the table in the restaurant and clubs and in the hotel rooms”.
What will happen next, we have to wait and watch, but meanwhile, the restaurant industry in the capital have reacted to the news.
"This is a very welcome and highly positive move. Liquor vends in Delhi are already operational and therefore serving alcohol within the contained environment of a restaurant where all social distancing norms are in place makes absolute logical sense. This move will give a boost to consumption, helping the beleaguered sector and state coffers in equal measures. Consumers in Delhi also stand to gain with an enhanced dining experience.NRAI is immensely thankful to the Govt of Delhi for acting so quickly on its request and wholeheartedly welcomes the decision," said Anurag Katriar, President, NRAI.
